Improving the energy efficiency of your home will; ensure that your house can be heated to the correct temperature, reduce the costs of heating your home and help lower your CO2 emissions.
For a household to qualify it must have a Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) rating of 55 or below. This is equivalent to the start of a Band D Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). A SAP score of 55 is at the very bottom of energy efficiency rating band D in the Energy Efficiency Rating chart of A to G. In 2009 an estimated 54% of all private sector dwellings in England had an energy rating of below D. More information on SAP can be found here:
You can apply via post, phone or the internet. If your initial application is successful, you will receive a visit from a Warm Homes Front Engineer who will carry out a technical survey who will recommend what works needs doing. Then you should have your improvements installed within three months of the technical survey.
Applying now, will ensure that there is more time to get the improvements made before next winter.
